SYNOPSIS:

  | Robert S. | File this under "It's all we can get" and try to accept some of the poorest video-transfers of all time. Forget chapter markings - if there is a chapter, the video-file itself is broken in two pieces, but otherwise, they run as one long chapter. WE DIVE AT DAWN and Leslie Howard's SPITIRE (also known as FIRST OF THE FEW) are good enough tales for what they are.
Powell & Pressburger's ONE OF OUR AIRCRAFT IS MISSING is a good solid entiry into their catalog of top-notch films, about an aircrew that's shot down over Europe and is trying to escape with the help of the anti-Nazi citizenry.
These are good entries for any war-film fan, but TERRIBLE entries for good video-quality. |
