SYNOPSIS:Despite the title and a cast that includes John Wayne in the title role, this is not a Western but one of the rare Pre-Code dramas he made early in his career. He stars as a West Point football star who pursues a military career only to discover that his commanding officer is now married to his former paramour (Laura La Plante), a woman bent on revenge after Wayne jilted her. Former child actress June Clyde co-stars in this tale of thwarted love, brimming with sexual tension and undisguised lust.
