Unavailable for nearly three years, The Criterion Collection is proud to re-release this ’60s spy classic in a gorgeous new anamorphic transfer.

     | Rick | | Terrific thriller with Grant at his charismatic peak and Hepburn at her most beautiful and vulnerable. Little action by today\'s standards, but well-paced and engrossing. There is a lot of sophisticated humor in the screenplay, along with suspense and a few good scares. This is the film that led to uncountable \"suspense\" imitations in the sixties, such as MIRAGE and ARABESQUE. The DVD for rent at Classicflix is, unlike the one at either Netflix or Blockbuster, the anamorphic widescreen edition, an upgrade Criterion produced years after the original release. This means that, if you have a widescreen t.v., the image will fill your screen, instead of occupying a rather small area at the center, as the standard letterbox release would do. Great color reproduction, sharpness. A gem. Rent now! |
