Long John Silver (1954)
VCI is pleased to present this family/adventure classic, based on the characters created by Robert Lewis Stevenson, in a brand new DVD -- the likes of which have probably not been seen since its initial theatrical release! The film has been faithfully restored to its full widescreen CinemaScope glory with beautiful rich color and detail! The very entertaining soundtrack has likewise been restored from a rare original 4-track recording and remixed to Dolby Digital 5.1. Robert Newton repeats his Treasure Island role as Long John Silver. The ruthless pirate “El Toro” Mendoza has kidnapped the Governor’s beautiful young daughter and captured Jim Hawkins along with her. Around Jim’s neck hangs a medallion that will help Long John find more of legendary Captain Flint’s buried gold, still waiting to be discovered on Treasure Island.

Hannibal (1960)
Love and war intertwine in this fanciful adaptation of history. The brilliant Carthaginian general, Hannibal (Victor Mature) despises Rome. Fueled by vengeance, he drives his army of elephants through the treacherous, frozen Alps into Italy, crushing anyone who dared to oppose him. As a strategy to break the morale of his enemies, Hannibal captures the beautiful Sylvia of Rome (Rita Gam) so she may see the might of his army and spread the news of impending doom to her people. However, a love grows between the two that will eventually be his undoing. This big-budget spectacle produced by Warner Bros. was shot in Technicolor and SuperCinescope and literally features a cast of thousands… over 4,000 foot-soldiers, 1,500 horsemen, 45 elephants and a vast assortment of war machines were employed in the historic battle of Cannae alone.
