SYNOPSIS:From prolific director Roger Corman, I, Mobster is the gritty, hard-boiled story of a small time racketeer who steals, lies, cheats and murders his way to the top of a shadowy mob empire.
Ambitious, street-wise and unhindered by moral principles, the young Steve Fisher (Steve Cochran) finds easy money doing the dirty work of bookies in his slum neighborhood. As he grows up, Fisher also grows into new criminal pursuits, from drug dealing to strong-arming the local labor unions. Finally, he sees his big chance - and knocks off the mob boss above him to take over as kingpin of a far-flung crime syndicate. But when he's hauled before a Senate racketeering committee, his once-loyal cronies start to feel the heat - and Fisher starts to realize that in his world, trust is the deadliest mistake of all.
