SYNOPSIS: Maltese Falcon (1931, 78 min)
Ricardo Cortez portrays detective Sam Spade in 1931's pre-Code The Maltese Falcon, in which everyone wants to give Spade money and no one wants to give him the truth.
Satan Met a Lady (1936, 74 min)
In the lighthearted Satan Met a Lady, involving the quest for a rare ram's horn instead of a bird statuette, Warren William plays for laughs where Cortez and Bogie played for keeps. Bette Davis shines as the title's Lady, a blonde schemer who insists a gentleman remove his hat when in the presence of a lady holding a gun.
