     | Jeff | | Still the best anthology series ever, and in a much better package than its previous release. This time they did it right, and logically releasing the shoes in order of broadcast so we can watch it grow and mature--and Rod as well, and of course the various themes. Xlnt mastering too, razor sharp with blacks that are deep and velvety as befits twilight. And oh, do some of these actors look YOUNG! The guy who does the interviews over some episodes is about as lame as they come, tho it's great to hear the directors and writers in their own words, especially Rod himself in lectures. The only thing that really bothers me is the total absense of SUBTITLES, so if we're listening to the isolated scores or putting up with Mr. "Mm-hmm" we miss Serling's gorgeous dialog. But a minor caveat--this is the only possible recommendation. |
