While the major studios have slowed down, or in some cases stopped releasing standard DVDs, smaller companies like VCI, Olive Films and Shout Factory have helped pick up the slack.

None more abundantly however as Timeless Media as they have increased their pace of releases and will likely top 2010's output.

Today's announcement of The Gene Autry Show - Season 1 is another example of Timeless' continued efforts to greatly expand the availability of 'second tier' TV Westerns that have been ignored for far too long.

SYNOPSIS:
For the first time on DVD, the complete Season One of Gene Autry’s landmark television series The Gene Autry Show is brought home in these fully restored and uncut episodes from Autry’s personal film and television archive.

The program follows the adventures of singing cowboy Gene Autry, his Wonder Horse Champion, and his sidekick Pat Buttram, who travel the Southwest to maintain law and order.

A collection of stand-alone half-hour episodes: sometimes Gene and Pat know each other sometimes they do not. Some shows are set in the past and some are in the near present of the early 1950s. Each unique show has Gene’s trademark mixture of action, comedy, and singing.
