SHOUT: Mr. Magoo Theatrical Collection, Dobie Gillis - Season 3

Shout! Factory has scheduled Mr. Magoo - The Theatrical Collection (1949 - 1959) for release on April 22nd.

The 4-disc set will include all 53 theatrical cartoons, including 12 cartoons in anamorphic widescreen, and the previously released feature film 1001 Arabian Nights (1959).

Then on May 6th, The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis - Season 3 will street. Among the guest stars in the 5-disc set will be Michele Lee, Bill Bixby and Charles Lane.

Since 1949, Mr. Magoo has bumbled his way to good fortune for more than six decades. His endearing misadventures in everyday life and his stubborn self-confidence have entertained generations.

Voiced by the multitalented comedic actor Jim Backus, the nearsighted Mr. Magoo was an instant hit and went on to become a classic animated character starring in two Academy Award-winning theatrical shorts, three television series and two television specials.

This special collector's edition brings together for the first time on DVD all 53 theatrical cartoons, including 12 cartoons in anamorphic widescreen for the first time, and the feature film 1001 Arabian Nights, all in one deluxe collection.

Season Three finds Dobie and Maynard discharged from the army and enrolled in S. Peter Pryor Junior College. Their long-suffering English teacher from high school, Mr. Pomfritt (William Schallert) has transferred there too, while Zelda and Chatsworth have also enrolled to join the fun.

Highlights from this season include Maynard suing Dobie's father, Dobie running for student council, Dobie's father teaching Chatsworth how to act like a man, and both Dobie and Maynard stowing away on a boat bound for South America to escape the clutches of the still-determined Zelda.

Guest stars throughout the season include Michele Lee, Bill Bixby and Charles Lane.
