WARNER ARCHIVE: Yankee Doodle Dandy & Possessed Debut on Blu in Latest Release

Warner has announced three new releases as part of their Archive Collection; two popular dramatic titles on Blu-Ray and another drama starring Olivia de Havilland.

Warner Archive continues to put forth popular titles on HD, giving Yankee Doodle Dandy its Blu-Ray debut. The 1942 James Cagney musical received a two-disc Special Edition DVD in 2003. Bonus content on Warner's new Blu-Ray carries over half of the content from that special edition, including audio commentaries, vintage shorts, and more (below).

Also receiving the high definition treatment for the first time is 1947's Possessed starring Joan Crawford and Van Heflin. Possessed came to DVD back in 2005 as a standalone disc as well as included in the Joan Crawford Collection box set. Bonus content includes a commentary, featurette, and trailer carried over from its past DVD incarnation.

Warner is also putting out the Technicolor romantic drama Gold Is Where You Find It (1938) starring George Brent and Olivia De Havilland. This marks the third Olivia De Havilland film released via Warner Archive in the last week, as well as being the DVD premiere of Gold Is Where You Find It.

Final artwork for Yankee Doodle Dandy and Possessed is forthcoming.

All three will be available here at ClassicFlix on October 21st and add to the total of over 1,400 Warner Archive titles exclusively available for rent at ClassicFlix.com.
