TIMELESS: Gene Autry Collection Vol. 9 in February

Gene Autry Collection, Vol. 9 has been set by Timeless Media for release on February 24th.

The 2-disc set will feature four fully-restored films, all of which are making their DVD debut. Details below.

Comin' Round the Mountain (1936, 55 min.)
When Pony Express Rider Gene Autry's horse is shot from under him, he falls, unconscious, and two attackers rob his mail sack of a package of money. Recovering later, Gene finds the torn wrapper, bearing the California address of Dolores Moreno, who was to use the cash to meet delinquent taxes on her vast ranch. Gene finds the wild horse El Diablo, escaped from the Moreno ranch, battling wolves and helps him, gaining the horse's confidence.

The next morning, Gene rides El Diablo into the Moreno Ranch. The scheming owner of the adjoining ranch, Matt Ford, brings Gene's boss Caldwell, owner of the Pony Express, to the Moreno fiesta. Caldwell, in California to buy horses, is about to buy a large herd of Ford's thoroughbreds when he is stopped by Gene, who senses that Ford is out to rob Dolores of her ranch and prevent the sale of her mustangs.

Git Along Little Dogies (1937, 67 min.)
Gene Autry becomes involved with a young woman who runs a radio station that advertises the sale of oil well stocks controlled by men of dubious character. Through the efforts of Gene and Frog Millhouse, real oil is discovered and the would-be swindlers are brought to justice.

Man From Music Mountain (1938, 58 min.)
Scanlon, a fake mining promoter, uses the opening of Boulder Dam as an excuse to sell worthless stock in Gold River, an old, deserted mining town, which he claims will be revived when a water and power line is put through from the dam. Gene Autry and his pal, Frog Millhouse, see through Scanlon's plan and try to warn the buyers, who refuse to listen.

Among the newcomers are Helen and Patsy, two young manicurists who arrive in Gold River hoping to open a beauty shop. Gene and Frog are attracted to the two girls and are determined to help them. Gene accidentally discovers that there is a hidden vein of quartz-gold in an old mine near Gold River.

Mountain Rhythm (1939, 61 min.)
Gene Autry and Frog Millhouse are called to the Pueblo Springs Valley to save Frog's aunt and other ranchers from the possibility that Cavanaugh, a resort owner, will purchase public grazing grounds. Gene decides to round up all the cattle and sell them for the necessary cash to buy the land from the government, but Cavanaugh sends out rumors of a gold strike which causes every cowboy in the district to desert his employer. Just then, two hobos, who have befriended Gene, learn of his plight, and round up dozens of their fellows.

Under Gene's tutelage, they prove to be swell cowpunchers and manhunters, eventually saving the land for the ranchers, and bringing Cavanaugh's gang to justice.
