Universal has just announced an April 7th street date for Imitation of Life on Blu-Ray and Doris Day: The Essential Collection.
This is the first time the both versions of Imitation of Life (the first released in 1934 and the other in 1959) will be available on Blu. The studio previously released both titles on a single disc DVD in 2008. Much like that previous release, both movies will be contained on one disc with previous bonus content carrying over.
The Doris Day Collection is a four-disc set containing six of the star's most popular features. All films in the collection were previously released by the studio as singles, with the exception of Midnight Lace, which was released exclusively through the TCM's Vault line last year.
Taking into account the availability of Day's movies individually, Doris Day: The Essential Collection will only be available for purchase through ClassicFlix.
Final artwork for both releases is forthcoming.
