Sony's Columbia Classics line debuts two of the film noir mysteries in the Whistler series, The Whistler (1944) and The Power of the Whistler (1945) on DVD for the first time.

Based on the popular radio program, actor Richard Dix starred in eight different Whistler films. Sony's recent releases mark the first time any of the Whistler films has been available on DVD. It is unknown if they will release the remaining six.
