TIMELESS: Gene Autry, Volume 12 Set for November

Timeless Media has set November 17th as the release date for the lastest Gene Autry movie collection, Gene Autry Collection, Volume 12.

Much like past Gene Autry installments, Volume 12 is a 2-disc set featuring four fully-restored films. Two of the four features have been previously released with Ride, Ranger, Ride (1936) and Yodelin' Kid From Pine Ridge (1937) receiving their DVD debut. Details below.

The Sagebrush Troubadour (1935, 58 min.)
Rangers Gene Autry and Frog Millhouse travel undercover as western troubadours to find the killer of old, half-blind Frank Martin. Their only clues are a guitar string and a swayback horse that is the key to finding the dead man's lost goldmine. Complicating matters is the old man's granddaughter, a blonde cyclone of a gal, who is suspicious of Gene and Frog and hires them to supply the music for her grand masquerade dance so she can keep an eye on them. Released in 1935, The Sagebrush Troubadour is a musical Western with melody, mirth, and mystery.

Ride Ranger Ride (1936, 63 min.)
Former Texas Ranger Gene Autry receives a commission as lieutenant in the U.S. Cavalry and is ordered to report to Colonel Summeral at Fort Adobe. Troopers Frog Millhouse and Rufe Jones join him in the army. Because of Gene's personal charm and ability to sing, he wins the warm glances of Dixie, the Colonel's daughter. Lt. Cameron, a West Pointer, resents the newcomer, especially after Gene's troop beats his in a riding contest which carries the privilege of escorting Dixie to a dance. On the eve of the dance, Cameron is ordered into the interior to make peace with Indians on the warpath. He persuades the Colonel to send Gene along with the detachment. Gene, realizing that Cameron has led them into an ambush, takes charge and shoots his way out - losing one trooper in the battle.

Yodelin' Kid From Pine Ridge (1937, 60 min.)
Rancher Gene Autry is involved in a feud between cattlemen, who want land for grazing, and turpentine forest folk, who make a hardscrabble living off pine trees, in his hometown in Georgia. Gene quarrels with his father, who thinks the turpentiners are responsible for cattle rustling. When the ranchers plan to burn the turpentiners out of the forest, Gene warns them, is accused of being on their side, and is disowned by his father. Gene leaves for the rodeo circuit and joins a Wild West Show owned by Colonel Millhouse. Years later, the show returns to Gene's hometown where local bad man Len Parker is still stirring up trouble between the cattlemen and the turpentiners.

Gold Mine in the Sky (1938, 60 min.)
Cody Langham, an eastern girl, attempts to run a ranch left to her by her father, who, knowing his daughter, appoints foreman Gene Autry as administrator of his will. She wants to sell the ranch, but Gene refuses to give his consent, so she sends for Larry Cummings, a cattle broker with few scruples. Gene has agreed to turn over the ranch to Cody when she marries a man who meets with his approval; therefore, Cody plans to marry Larry. Gene refuses his consent. Larry, discovering the value of the property, plans to get rid of Gene and sends to Chicago for racketeers. A fake cattle rustling raid, kidnappings and attempted murder all decoy Gene into many serious situations but he manages to battle his way out with the help of his sidekick, Frog Millhouse.
