Sony has announced a December 8th street date for the Blu-Ray debut of Frank Capra's You Can't Take It With You.

The 1938 film took home Oscar's for best film and director and includes an all-star cast of Jean Arthur, James Stewart, Lionel Barrymore, Spring Byington, Edward Arnold, Mischa Auer, and Ann Miller.

While the release doesn't appear to be a combo set, which would include a DVD, it does include a commentary and featurette by Frank Capra, Jr.

This time last year Sony released Mr. Smith Goes to Washington on Blu, so it's safe to say they might continue this trend for the foreseeable feature, although it is still unknown when Mr. Deeds Goes to Town will receive the Blu-Ray treatment. That film was fully restored and screened at the 2014 TCM Classic Film Festival.
