    Warner Bros. has given a June 2nd release date for Tom and Jerry - The Gene Deitch Collection on DVD. This new Tom and Jerry disc will contain thirteen newly remastered theatrical shorts on DVD for the first time, as well as additional featurettes on animator Gene Deitch and his career animating the duo (below).

  • French Serial, The House of Mystery, Debuts on DVD in April

    Flicker Alley has announced a release date of April 7th for the French serial The House of Mystery (also known as La Maison du mystère). This marks the first time the rare 1921 serial has been put out on any format. The three-disc set will contain all ten episodes of the series with optional English subtitles over French dialogue. Bonus content is set to include a slideshow and essay booklet.

    Criterion has scheduled April 14th as the street date for the Blu-Ray debuts of Preston Sturges' Sullivan's Travels (1941) and Carol Reed's Odd Man Out (1947). Sturges' film was originally released on DVD by Criterion in 2007, while Reed's psychological noir came to DVD via Image Entertainment in 1999. Both movies will receive simultaneous DVD upgrades.
