  • OLIVE: Two New Titles Arrive in July

    Olive Films has announced a July 19th release date for the DVD and Blu-Ray debut of the 1934 John Wayne Western 'Neath the Arizona Skies. Also arriving on the same day is the 1956 James Arness Western drama Gun the Man Down. Originally released by MGM in 2007 this marks the film's Blu-ray debut.   • KINO: Bogart in Deadline U.S.A. Gets First Home Video Release in July

    Three titles from Kino are scheduled for release on DVD and Blu-ray in July. Making its home video debut on July 26th is Deadline U.S.A. (1952) starring Humphrey Bogart, Kim Hunter and Ed Begley. The studio will also release Five Miles to Midnight (1962) with Sophia Loren, and 1959's Invisible Invaders starring John Agar. All can be viewed in our Recent Additions section.   • KINO: Pioneers of African American Cinema Arrives in July

    Kino has announced July 26th as the release date for their 5-disc presentation of Pioneers of African American Cinema (1918-1946) on DVD and Blu-ray. The set contains 27 shorts and feature-length films directed by and starring several luminaries of early African American cinema. The project came to fruition via a Kickstarter campaign last February. Bonus content has not been announced.

  • WARNER ARCHIVE: Father of the Bride and Dark Passage on Blu

    Three new releases have been announced by Warner as part of their Archive Collection. Father of the Bride (1950) and Dark Passage (1947) arrive on Blu-Ray for the first time.   • KINO: Ox-Bow Incident and Yellow Sky Debut on Blu

    Kino has announced July 12th as the release date for two popular Western titles, both directed by William Wellman, The Ox-Bow Incident (1943) and Yellow Sky (1948) on Blu-ray. Both were previously released on DVD via 20th Century Fox. The Ox-Bow Incident debuted on DVD back in 2003 and will be seeing a brand-new 4K restoration. Yellow Sky is simply transferring to HD.     Criterion has announced July street dates for Night and Fog (1955) and Carnival of Souls (1962) on both DVD and Blu-Ray.     Shout! Factory has announced a July 12th release date for The Defenders - Season 1. This marks the debut of the E.G. Marshall and Robert Reed-starring law drama on DVD.
