    Kino has announced an August 11th street date for the 1931 newspaper comedy, The Front Page, on DVD and Blu-Ray. This is the first time the Adolphe Menjou classic will be released on home video and is especially notable as the forerunner to the screwball comedy His Girl Friday (1940) starring Cary Grant and Rosalind Russell.     Criterion has announced an August 4th street date for both versions of Night and the City on DVD and Blu-Ray. The studio continues the trend of upgrading their first spate of releases to 2-disc DVDs as well as transfering them to Blu.     Flicker Alley has announced a release date of October 27th for Sherlock Holmes starring William Gillette. This marks the first time the rare 1916 Holmes feature, starring Gillette, has been put out on any format. Gillette became the foremost Holmes performer, playing the character nearly 1300 times.   • 70 Episodes of One Step Beyond Now Available

    Film Chest has unveiled 70 uncut episodes of the 1959 sci-fi anthology One Step Beyond. VCI released a two-disc set of select episodes back in 2003 while Paramount debuted the complete first season in 2009. There's no reveal as to what seasons these episodes derive from, but the fervant demand and praise for Film Chest's latest set, released this past April, sounds promising.
