  • KINO: Kings of the Sun Debuts on Blu in May

    Kino has announced a May 25th street date for the 1963 historical drama, Kings of the Sun, on DVD and Blu-Ray. This is the first time the Yul Brynner classic will be released on Blu after being put on DVD by MGM in 2008. Bonus features will carry over from that DVD release and include the theatrical trailer.

  • Rawhide - The Complete Series Comes to DVD

    Paramount will release Rawhide - The Complete Series onto DVD May 19th. The 59-disc set contains all 217 episodes of the Western series, starring Clint Eastwood in his breakout role, which ran from 1959 - 1965. NOTE: Since the show is available to rent in individual seasons, this complete series will only be available for purchase.

  • Seasons 1 and 2 of Wyatt Earp Back in Print

    Seasons one and two of the The Life and Legends of Wyatt Earp will be back in print on March 10th. The first two seasons of the Hugh O'Brian-led western series were previously released by Infinity Entertainment (2009) and Inception Media Group (2011) respectively.   • VCI: The Flying Deuces Debuts on Blu-Ray in May

    Laurel and Hardy's The Flying Deuces (1939) makes its Blu-ray debut on May 19th from VCI. Originally released on DVD by Legend Films in 2012, that version contained both a black and white as well as a colorized version of the film. VCI doesn't appear to be putting out a colorized format, but will include a featurette on the duo, as well as a special trailer as bonus material (below).

  • OLIVE: Dance With Me, Henry Debuts on Blu in April

    Olive Films has announced an April 21st release date for the Blu-Ray debut of Abbott and Costello's final teaming, the 1956 comedy Dance With Me, Henry. The film originally premiered on DVD through MGM a decade ago and has been out of print since. The comedic duo would make 38 films in their sixteen years together. Bonus features to the upgraded DVD or Blu-Ray aren't anticipated.

  • BLU CRITERION: Make Way for Tomorrow and Limelight in May

    Criterion has scheduled May 19th as the street date for the Blu-Ray debuts of Leo McCarey's Make Way for Tomorrow (1937) and Charlie Chaplin's Limelight (1952). McCarey's film was originally released on DVD by Criterion in 2010, while Chaplin's melancholy drama came to DVD in a 2-disc set via Warner in 2005. Both movies will receive simultaneous DVD upgrades. Both come with bonus features typical of Criterion releases (below).

  • Two Volume Stooges Collection Comes to Blu in April

    Mill Creek has announced April 12th as the release date for volumes 1 and 2 of their Three Stooges Triple Feature Collection on Blu-Ray. Each disc contains three Stooges feature films, with volume 1 containing three pre-1950s films and the latter three from the 1960s. Outside of their upgrade to Blu all have been previously released on DVD through Sony and are contained on various Three Stooges box sets.
