  • OLIVE: Four Film Noirs Come to Individual Blu

    Olive Films has announced a December 23rd release date for Rope of Sand, Union Station, Appointment with Danger, and Dark City on Blu-Ray. All four were previously compiled into Olive's Film Noir Collection, Vol. 1 set in 2012 but are now being released as singles. It is assumed these will be carry-overs straight from the box set with no bonus content attached.

  • FOX CINEMA ARCHIVES: Michael Shayne Comes Out of the Vault in November

    Fox has announced the resurrection of Michael Shayne, private detective, as part of their latest releases in their Cinema Archives line. The studio is releasing Just Off Broadway (1942), the sixth of seven movies featuring Lloyd Nolan's detective, Michael Shayne, which ran from 1940 to 1942.     TCM and Sony have announced a November 25th release date for the Blu-Ray debut of the Cary Grant / Jean Arthur classic, Only Angels Have Wings.   • WARNER: Lust For Life Making Blu-Ray Debut in February

    Warner has just slated a February 3rd street date for the Blu debut of Lust for Life (1956). A biopic of painter Vincent van Gogh, which earned a Best Actor Golden Globe for Kirk Douglas, was previously released by Warner on DVD in 2006. Also of note, it will be coming out as a pressed disc in wide release (not a MOD under the Warner Archive banner). Bonus content and final artwork have not been announced....
